Company History

Our company’s history dates back to 1989 when Hazleton Area Transfer Service was established. In 1993, the operation moved into a new facility on West Walnut Street in the City of Hazleton. This location housed four ambulances, a billing office and an operations office. The company was restructured in 2000 and became known as American Patient Transport Systems (APTS). On April 1, 2004, the current ownership took over the organization and quickly determined that a newer, larger and more modern facility was needed.

In December 2005, we moved into our current location at 119 East Holly Street in Hazleton. The new facility has more than 3,000 square feet of space for operations and management, including an employee lounge, trip sheet room, shower and kitchen. The building also features 7,000 square feet to house our fleet of vehicles, which includes 10 ambulances and 19 non-emergency stretcher/wheelchair vans.

In January 2016, we opened a second location in Frackville, Pennsylvania, to better serve our clients in the Schuylkill County region. Since then our location in Schuylkill County has moved from Frackville to Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
